Don’t sink your design ideas; pull them together with an anchor item!

An anchor item is simply a starting point from which you can build the design of your room around. It can be a piece of furniture, a work of art, or even an architectural element.

What you’re keeping an eye out for is a piece that grabs your attention. Something that you look at and think to yourself… “this is the direction I want this space to go in.”

Often times, the anchor item will have the style, pattern, “personality” or color components that you want to work into your space. Below are some examples of these special pieces and how they helped define a room.
